The shell fragments are randomly distributed across the stone. Some areas in the quarry have yielded cross bedding. Please note that the colour of Portland Stone may vary across different computer monitors due to variations in display settings. Basebed®

Basebed is the premium quality, fine grained Portland stone. It has a very tight texture with evenly distributed shell fragments.
