The shell fragments are randomly distributed across the stone. Some areas in the quarry have yielded cross bedding. Please note that the colour of Portland Stone may vary across different computer monitors due to variations in display settings. Heritage Portland Stone®

Heritage Portland Stone® includes the geological characteristic of our Whitbed seam which ties in with historical use on all Portland buidings typically pre 1970’s.
